I am conflicted over this video. Technology is undoubtedly transforming education, and together with other changes in pedagogy are making it far more effective. However the approach described here appears to have a shallow interpretation of the formative value of education.
Learning is so much more than the transfer of knowledge, and for maximum efficacy should be delivered in far more than a recorded medium. Where is the place of the role model, the teacher of character that one aspires to be like?
It is possible that by creating the digital assistant, time is freed up for more formative relationships but that possibility wasn’t expressed here.
I love this post on the Future Fuller site, because it integrates my management learning with my work! Fuller are totally correct in identifying the issues facing theological education as adaptive. Without specifically identifying it however, the temptation is to treat it as technical.
